I
simply *love* food. There's not much I don't like, it's mostly a
matter of what I choose to eat, not what my tastebuds or some marketing
campaign think I should eat.
Natural, organic, real food- Not over processed and packaged and no
genetically modified crap (I'm not a human guinea pig). Indian;
Japanese; Local greasy-spoon diner breakfast food; Coffee; Bakery
stuff; Veggies; Beans; Potatoes; Pizza; Simple no-frills things I can make
myself from scratch.
I'm mostly vegetarian- I do eat fish.
If I lived on a farm, raised the animals and killed it personally, I
would eat it.
I appreciate & enjoy food made for me (it doesn't have to be
complex)- I'll do the dishwashing.

Informative/how-to
books; sociology topics, mythology, religious studies, quantum physics,
sci-fi/fantasy authors Anne McCaffrey (known well for the Pern world
stories) and Jacqueline Carey ("Kushiel's Dart")
I'm
going to skip a detailed list of many examples because I'll read
anything that's in front of me: story books, text books, newspaper,
food ingredients,
magazine, computer screen, dictionary, junk mail.. whatever. Used
bookstores are especially dangerous to my wallet.
